Setting up
Activate Broadcasts
Before you can set up the broadcast mode, you must first enable the option in Settings. Navigate to Bot Settings, then to Powerups, and under the Engagement category, turn on the Broadcasts button. Finally, click on 'Save Changes'.
Next, navigate to the left sidebar. Click Broadcasts.
Broadcasts Page
To create a new broadcast on the Bot Broadcasts page, begin by clicking the + Add New Broadcast button.
Next, in the Add broadcast widget that appears, you'll need to complete several required fields:
Platform: Choose "Microsoft Teams" from the dropdown menu, as it's currently the only available option.
Broadcast type: Select the type that corresponds to your message. Options include message, poll and quiz.
Title: Provide a title for your broadcast.
Text: Enter the content of your broadcast. You can input up to 2000 characters.
Send broadcast at: Specify the time range for when you want the broadcast to be sent.
Audiences: Choose one or more audiences that you've previously created to receive the broadcast.
Once you have filled in the required fields for your broadcast, you should click the ‘Schedule Broadcast’ button. This action schedules the broadcast according to the time range you specified in the ‘Send broadcast at’ field. Make sure to review your entries before finalizing the broadcast creation.
Audiences Page
In this page, by clicking on ‘+ Add audience’, to create a new audience for the message that will be broadcasted.
Then the Configure audience page will show, which is used to set up a new audience group for broadcasting messages:
Name: A mandatory field where you enter the name of the audience group.
Platform: A dropdown menu where you select the platform for the broadcast. At the moment the broadcast feature is available only in Microsoft Teams.
Handle: A text field where you enter the channel URL or ID for the selected platform. This field is currently empty.
Add Group: Finally click the button at the bottom right to finalize and to add the group with the specified settings.
